Head Coach: Eddie Shope
Eddie Shope is a native to the Carson Valley and graduated from Douglas High School in 2004. He competed in varsity golf all 4 years and played JV and Varsity Football as Quarterback and starting Defensive Back. After high school, he attended the Professional Golfer's Career College in Temecula, California, and graduated with a degree in Golf Course Management. Eddie played golf for Saddleback College and went on to pursue teaching golf at Genoa Lakes Golf Course as the Assistant Professional. Since then, he has completed two more degrees at Western Nevada College, an Associates in Arts and an Associate in General Studies. Eddie also enjoys playing tournament golf. One of his greatest successes is making it to the second round of the U.S. Open Qualifier. His greatest rounds in competition came in the Professional Golfers Management Program where he posted a 63, 66 to take first place in his PAT qualification. While teaching at Genoa Lakes Golf Course, Eddie's students have had much success competing in the Northern Nevada Junior Golf Association. His student of three years from Douglas High School was recently awarded the Men's Athlete of the Year Award. Eddie attends Grace Community Church with his family. He is husband to Kirsten Shope, the 5th and 6thgrade teacher at Grace Christian Academy and is a father to his son, Brayden Grey Shope, who is one year old. Eddie is an insurance agent for Great Northwest Insurance and runs his own business from his home.
