Half of Varsity Players Have a 4.0

The numbers are in. Nineteen of thirty-eight varsity Sierra Lutheran students competing in fall sports have qualified for the Nevada All-State Academic Team. In order to qualify, students must maintain a GPA of 4.0 during the season of the sport. While maintaining straight A’s is already commendable, what makes this recognition truly notable is the fact that all of these athletes did well in their studies while attending afternoon practices on weekdays and games on weekends (sometimes even during school days).

The SLHS faculty and administrative team is extremely proud of these academic scholars, who not only show dedication and perseverance in their respective sports, but in the classroom as well.
